Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four siblings was born on the 8th of August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. Since a young age, her dental surgeon parents and her teacher mom supported her love of theater and drama. It was this love that overshadowed her initial wish to become a primatologist. It was a quick rise for her to become a famous young actress. Following her graduation She was a part of the French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers which was backed by Canal+. She won the Most Outstanding Young Actress prize at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors and began her professional career as an actor. While she attended The Institut Catholique de Paris and was a member of the church during her childhood, Tautou has distanced herself from her religious upbringing and has stated that she's not Catholic. In addition to her acting career she also pursued a modelling career. It is her turn to be the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and often called The Chanel Muse. Also, she has an intense interest in photography and recently exhibited her work at the Arles Festival with the name Superficial. The majority of her photography is focused on the spotlight and celebrities and then turns her camera to those who scrutinized her when she exploded to fame as Amelie and self-portraits. Audrey Tautou's very first major performance, in the role of Amelie Poulain's lead actor in the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain, brought her international stardom. Amelie was a global success on the screen and also won numerous awards across the globe. Amelie is the top grossing French film of the French language in the US. The popularity of the film has led to Tautou being cast in a range of roles, ranging from British dramas like Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
