Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Some of her early Broadway performances included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Play to play Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of her career working alongside renowned directors and actors across stage film and television and she continues that award-winning collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford is next seen opposite Kumail Nannjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust alongside Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. This film is a Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. In March of 2023 Ashford will return to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will serve as the creators of the show. Ashford was last seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the nation's first impeachment proceedings in Over a Century. Ashford was a part of two seasons on the popular CBS comedy B Positive. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also included Ben Vereen as well as Hector Elizondo. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and was raised in Denver.
